CBS has renewed 13 series for the 2008-2009 television season. The series are The Amazing Race, The Big Bang Theory, Cold Case, Criminal Minds, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Numb3rs, Survivor, Two And A Half Men and Without A Trace.

NEWS ITEM: 
The series 24  will not air its new season, which should have begun last month, until next January 2009 because the network wants to air the full season on consecutive weeks. Because of the writer's strike, if it had started airing new episodes now the season finale would not take place until deep in the summer, when TV shows are traditionally in reruns. Only eight episodes of the show had been produced for this season before the beginning of the strike.

NEWS ITEM: 
NBC has announced that new episodes of My Name Is Earl will return on April 3 and 30 Rock, The Office, Scrubs and ER will be back on April 10. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will resume on April 15, while Law & Order will be back on April 23.
